It's more oxidized and generally stronger in flavor than oolong and green teas.Two principal varieties of the species are used "the small-leaved Chinese variety plant", used for most other types of teas, and the "large-leaved Assamese plant", which was traditionally mainly used for black tea.

It's recommended to steep tea with a covered teapot, for the first and second brewing. Increase temperature and time for further brews & to brew for three times only.
